I love digital TV. All my friends in Melbourne have it, and it kicks major arse. Better quality, less interference, and with a digital set top hard disk recorder, you’ll never miss a show. And ABC2! Even though everyone says it’s totally lame, I still wanna watch “Good Game” to get some hot tips of those l33t gamexzors.
The digital reception where I live is pathetic, which sucks. Using five maps from the reception locator over at DBA, I compiled a map of digital tv coverage to illustrate why. There’s rumoured to be a demo of digital TV set up in the local Harvey Norman since they installed a really high antenna, but I’ve never seen it. Apparently, there is a digital broadcast tower planned for Hay. It’s scheduled for August 2007 which is still too far off in my opinion. I want it now! Taping shows onto VHS is, like, so 1990.
EDIT: I just found a page at the ABC stating that digital TV is planned for June 2007.
